Pilgrimage sites are often connected with a long tradition of prayer, a revered image, a saint, a monastery or a significant event. Pilgrims encounter the prayer of the Church, the sacraments and the witness of generations who came before them.

Grace is God’s free gift. It cannot be earned or forced by a journey. A pilgrimage can nevertheless open a person to conversion, consolation, confession, the Eucharist and a more attentive awareness of God’s presence.

The editable catalogue includes pilgrimage sites, Marian shrines, basilicas, places of prayer, monasteries and Ways of the Cross. The designation used by the responsible church body is preferred wherever possible.

No. Times, access and local arrangements can change. Confirm them with the parish, shrine, monastery or diocese before travelling.

No. Pilgrimap is an independent information service published by Eble IT. It does not replace official information from a diocese, parish, religious community or shrine.

Yes. Every published place has a stable direct link. The map opens at that place with the detail panel visible.

Yes. The interface is responsive and progressively enhanced. Only markers in the visible map area are loaded, and motion can be reduced through system preferences.

Yes. The read-only API provides published place and category data as JSON and GeoJSON. Ready-made iframe views are also available. See the API documentation for examples.
